The American Petroleum Institute (API) has categorized base oils into five categories (API 1509, Appendix E) and Charin Energy is active in the supply of each of these categories. The base oils from groups I, II and III are all refined from petroleum crude oil while polyalphaolefins (PAO, Gr. IV) are fully synthetic oils. We also offer all other base oils which belong to group V as well as supply low viscosity base oils and other speciality oils such as process oils & white oils.

Group V base oils include phosphate ester, polyalkylene glycol (PAG), polyolester, biolubes, etc. These base oils are at times used as property enhancers for other base stocks by mixing them with such base oils.
